Vendor Spotlight {Byrne-Reed House}
I recently had the opportunity to get a sneak peek of the Byrne-Reed House in heart of downtown. This stunning 100 year old restored mansion is Austin's newest event facility & is available for weddings, showers, parties, & meetings. Built in 1907 at the corner of 15th & Rio Grande the house is an Austin gem & has been fully restored to it's original glory. In the 1970s it was wrapped in a stucco facade which completely entombment the original house (see pictures below) making it impossible to know that just under the surface was a gorgeous mansion which was hidden for almost 40 years! The Humanities Texas foundation carefully & lovingly restored every detail of this priceless Austin landmark. Many of the features such as the flooring & windows are original to the house being perfectly preserved under the 70's stucco facade. When you see the before & after photos it's truly amazing, the Byrne-Reed House is like a beautiful butterfly that has been released from it's cocoon. Stepping into this mansion is like stepping back in time, it's absolutely stunning & one of a kind.

Wedding Trend {Vintage}
Vintage is a huge wedding trend this year & it's easy to see why with it's simple, soft, and elegant feel. Vintage is really another word for Antique; so it's about bringing in an older style & using it in a modern way. Items such as lace, ribbon, brooches, colorful antique glass vases, & soft floral arrangements are perfect for this style. The best part of vintage is that you can really insert your own personality as well as family history with personal items from grandparents & other relatives. It's a very DIY budget friendly trend as well because you can collect items from thrift stores, family members, & even retail stores (such as IKEA) who are now starting to caterer to this new trend. Vintage has a very electric vibe which means it's not a matchy matchy style, so you can get away with anything & really let your creativity run wild. Here are a few examples of this beautiful new trend....
